My thanks to President Tyler Hill of Engineers Australia, who joined us on Wednesday 30th July to share insights into several local initiatives of the organisation. Tyler spoke about the critical role of volunteers, the importance of maintaining professional standards, and the need to elevate engineering across an increasingly diverse profession. During question time, we reflected on the strengths engineers bring to leadership. While engineers are skilled problem-solvers, who often remain within our technical domains. Yet civic engagement matters—and our communities are there for those who step forward.
