A recent BBQ was one that highlighted Rotary determination and commitment.
On Sunday 16th November the Rotary club was invited to set up the BBQ for the City of Burnside and the Little Treasures for Christmas event. This was held at the Peppercorn Arts Centre.
The Rotary volunteers were there to set everything up before 2 pm. That was a challenge as the wind was strong blowing away serviettes and other equipment. But we preserved despite a poor weather forecast.
The rain then came at the worst possible times and trying to serve the customers was a feat in itself.
We continued despite the heavy rain but that deterred many of the customers who preferred to stay inside.
Then it really came down and we were all getting wet and so were the customers.
Packing up was a real challenge but we did it efficiently.
It was a difficult day but the Rotary volunteers worked together and did the best they could and still had a fun day.
True fellowship demonstrated in this wet and wild day.
