On Saturday 5th September 2026 a team of Members from the Rotary Club of Burnside met at the Bennett’s Reserve Playground to dismantle the Playground equipment for Repurposing Overseas by Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment (RARE) Rotary Overseas Relocated Playgrounds Project (RORP)
The rain hampered the initial intention to dismantle the equipment. After donning High Vis and an outline a plan work began began. There was a search for all the joints which had been pre-marked and lubricated by Past District Governor Mary-Louise. Slowly but surely all the parts came off in an orderly fashion. By midday all parts that were removed were stacked ready for pickup. The cemented poles are awaiting a gentle lift out by an excavator.

There are more playgrounds to be disassembled in the future so the team will gather once again.
